Television consoles or entertainment unit dimensions have historically been based on the width and height. A plasma TV stand or plasma entertainment set is often needed because outdated furniture doesn’t work for the new television. There are three primary reasons why. First, is that most people are upgrading to larger sets. They larger sets are usually around 42 inches. For many people, the older furniture will not accommodate a television this size. Secondly, the older furniture is often too wide. The flat plasma makes a skinnier unit much more appealing. The invention of DVD over VCR has also made us need less storage space. As we shed of the size of our older televisions, it’s natural to want to get back some more floor space, as well. It looks better. Third, the design looks a lot better. You might be able to get away with the old television stand, but it doesn’t look quite right. Modern televisions should have a modern furniture solution. It’s analogous to buying a new shirt or blouse (in style) and wearing some out of date pants or shoes to go with it. It might look ok, but it’s much nicer to have the entire outfit in the same fashion. Wood and Glass Most plasma TV stands come in wood or glass. The glass stands are more elegant and make the room feel brighter. Wood creates a more authentic/traditional feel. There are many varieties in the wood products. Hardwood is the high end and pressed and veneered wood is the low end. | |||
